LIKE NO VAN BEFORE
BY DESIGN, VANS MEET NEEDS. BUT THE NEW ODYSSEY GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND. IT TAKES HIGH-TECH TO NEW HEIGHTS. ITS CONVENIENCES ARE NOT JUST THOUGHTFUL -- YOU COULD ALMOST CALL THEM ENCHANTING. AND IT MAY SEEM STRANGE, BUT CAN A VAN REALLY KNOW WHEN ALL YOU NEED IS A LITTLE YOU-TIME? THE ANSWER IS YES. AND SUDDENLY, YOU NO LONGER NEED A VAN, YOU WANT ONE. BECAUSE THIS IS NO ORDINARY VAN. THIS IS THE ALL-NEW 2011 HONDA ODYSSEY.
The
third row has room for three adult passengers ? and three beverage
holders. A fold-down center armrest makes it cozier for two (Touring
models). On vans equipped with a rear entertainment system, there's a
115-volt power outlet and A/V inputs. In this van, taking the back seat
is a pleasure.
The second row features a center
seat that can accomplish a multitude of tasks. It's now wide enough for a
child seat, and can slide forward, putting the child seat within easy
reach of a front passenger. Fold down the seatback, and it becomes a
food or beverage tray. And the two second-row outboard seats can slide
left or right. The resulting "wide mode" creates either more comfort for
passengers, or more room for two additional child seats in the second
row.
To keep out bright light or peering paparazzi,
the second- and third-row windows have integrated sunshades (Touring
models)
Rear passengers don't ask for much. Just
make them super comfortable, and give them an easy way in and out. To
that end, we located the power sliding door switch right where a
second-row sitter would expect to find it.
The
position of the second-row walk-in levers makes getting to the third row
simple, while recline levers offer a quick way to ease back. And
there's one more convenience: a trash-bag ring, sized to use shopping
bags.
The driver and front passenger get the royal
treatment, too. The all- new Odyssey features more soft-touch surfaces
for a more sophisticated feel. The driver settles into a seat with
10-way power adjustment, including power lumbar support (EX and above),
while the passenger enjoys 4-way power adjustment ? and the heated seats
get up to a comfortable temperature quickly (EX-L and
above).
TRANSPORT 8 PASSENGERS, OR 4x8
SHEETS OF PLYWOOD IN DAZZLING VAN GLORY
There is
one main reason for buying a minivan: flexibility. And the 2010 Honda
Odyssey has been rethought to be even more configurable than ever
before. Whether the day involves transporting adults in comfort,
maximizing your kid- carrying capacity, or even making a run to the
lumber yard, this interior is ready to respond quickly and
easily.
WIELD THE POWER TO PLEASE THE MOST
DEMANDING AUDIENCES
What ever music you're into,
it's better when it's portable. With the USB Audio Interface, simply
plug in your compatible MP3 player or USB drive (EX-L and
above).
If you really want to take your show on the
road pump out music with a 12- speaker, 650-watt 5.1 surround sound
system (Touring Elite).
All Odyssey models have
feature more powerful audio systems for 2011. A new CD-Library lets you
store up to 18 CDs in 2 GB of memory for easy organization and playback
(EX and above). Set up to an EX-L and you're treated to an XM radio and a
USB Audio Interface. Add the available navigation system, and you'll be
able to use 15 GB of the system's hard disk drive (HDD) to store more
than 3,500 of your songs.
The 8-inch navigation
display shows audio-system information, as well as the second- and
third-row media sources. The screen can also be used to show wallpaper
images (available on EX-L, standard on Touring models).
Both rear entertainment systems include A/V inputs and a
115-volt power outlet. Touring Elite models incorporate HDMI
technology.
The Odyssey's navigation system now
includes FM Traffic, which alerts you to traffic incidents on the
system's map display. You can zoom in on specific incidences for more
information, and then plan an alternative route. It's an added feature
to the already robust navigation capabilities of the system, offering 7
million points of interest, turn-by-turn driving directions and Zagat
restaurant reviews (available on EX-L standard on Touring
models).
TAKING A MOONLIGHT DRIVE HAS NEVER BEEN SO
ILLUMINATING
The all-new 2011 Odyssey is equipped
with high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights -- a first for any
Odyssey. They cast a longer, brighter beam to help light up the night
when you're traveling on dark roads (Touring Elite).
Other vehicles will have a harder time sneaking up, since the
Odyssey features a blind-spot information system* (BSI) that notifies
the driver of any vehicle detected in its blind-spot area. It's the
first-ever offering of a blind-spot system on any Honda (Touring Elite).
*The system is not a substitute for your own visual assessment before
changing lanes; system accuracy will vary based on weather, size of
object and speed.
EX-L and above models feature a
rear camera with guidelines. It not only helps you see what's behind
you, but also helps when backing into tight spaces. On
navigation-equipped models, a multi-view rear camera offers three views:
normal, wide and straight down.
Bluetooth8
HandsFreeLink makes it easy to sync up your compatible mobile phone
(EX-L and above).
BRING ON THE EXTRAS. IT'S TIME WE
ALL MADE OURSELVES A LITTLE MORE COMFORTABLE.
She
likes it warm. He prefers it cool. And the rear passengers have their
own preference. Tri-zone automatic climate control is the only logical
solution. The system also monitors cabin humidity (EX and
above).
There is ample cargo space. Enough for a
weekend getaway. For more space, the third-row Magic Seat stows with one
gentle pull.
Whether you're facing a frosty
morning or a chilly evening, you'll just feel snugglier on heated front
seats (EX-L and above).
For refreshment, reach
inside the new cool box. Located in the lower part of the center stack,
it uses the A/C system to keep the contents chilled (EX and
above).
THE WORLD CAN BE A DANGEROUS PLACE. BUT
HERE YOU CAN RELAX. THE ODYSSEY IS YOUR HAPPY PLACE.
In anticipation of larger families on the go, the Odyssey
provides up to five positions for LATCH-compatible (Lower Anchors and
Tethers for Children) child seats.
To help reduce
the likelihood of whiplash injuries, the front seats have active head
restraints. They move up and forward in a sufficient rear
collision.
Standard front, front side and side
curtain airbags* can help reduce the likelihood of injuries in a
collision. The side curtain airbags have a sensor that can detect a
rollover, and then deploy the airbags. And the front passenger's side
airbag comes equipped with the Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS)
to help prevent airbag deployment if a small-statured passenger is out
of position and in the airbag's path of deployment. *Honda reminds you
and your passengers to always buckle up. Children 12 and under are
safest when properly restrained in a rear seat.
The
front seat belts are equipped with an automatic tensioning system that
will tighten in a moderate-to-severe frontal impact.
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) will notify the
driver when air pressure is significantly low.
The
Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure is a
Honda-exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection as well as
crash compatibility in frontal collisions. By dispersing crash energy
more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle, less force is
transmitted to the passenger compartment.
Vehicle
Stability Assist (VSA)** system helps sense oversteer or understeer and
brakes individual wheels and/or reduces engine power to help keep you on
your intended course. **VSA is not a substitute for safe driving. It
cannot correct the vehicle?s course in every situation or compensate for
reckless driving. Control of the vehicle always remains with the
driver.
Brake Assist, a component of the anti-lock
braking system (ABS), helps apply full braking force in some emergency
situations. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) helps balance braking
forces depending upon dynamic
loading.
